San Miguel de Allende is more than beautiful architecture and cobblestone streets — it is a city that lives and breathes the arts. Few nights have proven it like this one: Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, performed at the Templo de San Francisco as part of the FASMA ‘26 festival, with more than 150 musicians on stage between choir and orchestra.
It was the first time in over 50 years that this majestic work was performed in San Miguel de Allende — and SMA Home Services was honored to be a proud sponsor.
A Historic Night for San Miguel
Under the baton of artistic director Mauro Ledesma, the performance brought together the Coro Pro Música de Ciudad de México, the Coro Filarmónico de San Miguel de Allende, and Chorale San Miguel, joined by the Orquesta Juvenil Pro Música and four soloists. The evening also featured the world premiere of Michael Hoppé’s “Tho’ Much is Taken, Much Abides.”
Months of preparation, three choirs, one unforgettable “Ode to Joy” — inside one of the city’s most beloved historic temples.
For our founder, Architect Gustavo Jiménez, supporting this concert was a natural fit:
